What is Cerakote?
Cerakote is a thin, ceramic-based coating engineered for firearms. Applied and oven-cured correctly, it dramatically improves resistance to corrosion, wear, chemicals, and abrasion — while letting you completely change the look of a pistol, rifle, or shotgun.
Done right, the difference is in the prep. We disassemble the firearm, degrease and media-blast the parts for adhesion, apply the coating in controlled coats, then bake it to a full cure and reassemble with a function check. Skip those steps and the finish peels; do them properly and it lasts for years of hard use. That’s the standard we hold every job to.
What we coat
Pairing Cerakote with other work? Ask about barrel threading and sight work or a full gunsmithing package so it all comes back together dialed in.
Pricing
Cerakote pricing depends on the firearm, the number of parts, the colors, and the pattern — a single slide is a very different job from a multi-color rifle build. Rather than post a one-size number that’s wrong for most jobs, we quote each project honestly after we see what you want done.
Bring your firearm by the shop or call (321) 316-4385 with the details and we’ll give you a straight quote and a realistic turnaround.
Common questions
It’s quoted per job. A single slide, a two-tone pistol, and a multi-color rifle build are very different amounts of work, so we price each project after we know the firearm, parts, and colors. Call (321) 316-4385 or stop in for a quote.
Turnaround depends on the current queue and the complexity of the job. We’ll give you a realistic timeframe when we quote it — simple single-color jobs move faster than multi-color stencil work.
Yes, when it’s applied correctly. Proper degreasing, blasting, coat thickness, and a full oven cure are what make it hold up to holster wear, solvents, and the elements. That prep is exactly where we don’t cut corners.
In most cases, yes. Cerakote offers a wide range of factory colors plus custom mixing and stencil patterns. Bring us a reference and we’ll tell you what’s achievable.
No — bring it as-is. We handle full disassembly, coating, reassembly, and a function check as part of the job.
Applied at the correct thickness by someone who knows firearms, no. We mask or account for tight-tolerance areas so the action, fitment, and function are preserved. That’s the advantage of having it done by a working gunsmith and manufacturer.
Often, yes — Cerakote works on many metal parts. Ask us about your specific item and we’ll let you know.
