Threading From $150. Recrown From $80. Sights Cut Right.
High-precision barrel work and sight installation by a Florida gunsmith you can show up to in person. Whether it's a suppressor host, a hunting rifle, or a 1911 carry build — done right the first time at our Maitland, FL shop.
Suppressor-Ready Threads. Pin & Weld. Recrowning.
Whether you're prepping a host for a suppressor, adding a muzzle brake, or pinning and welding to bring a 14.5" barrel into compliance with NFA-free length, we cut precise concentric threads to the exact pitch your muzzle device or can requires.
Standard pitches we cut routinely: 1/2x28, 5/8x24, 9/16x24, M14x1 LH, plus less-common pitches on request. Threading is performed on the lathe with the barrel indicated to bore — not from external surfaces — so your point of impact and POI shift remain predictable.
Recrowning is available standalone ($80) or as part of a cut-and-crown package ($125) if you're shortening the barrel. We finish with a precision square or 11° target crown depending on application.
Inletting, Dovetails & Stake-On Sights
For traditional rifle setups — lever guns, classic bolt guns, and military-style platforms — we inlet stocks for peep sights or side mounts ($100) and cut dovetails for open sights ($60 per cut, or $100 front and rear in the same setup).
For semi-auto pistols, we mill slides for low-profile rear sights ($125), front dovetail sights ($60), and install stake-on front sights ($50). Sights themselves are not included in the price — bring or ship the sights you want installed and we'll fit them.
Standard sight installation when no milling is required is $45.
Mount, Boresight, Send It.
Bring us a rifle and a scope and walk out with the optic mounted, torqued, and boresighted for $50. Scope mounting and boresighting is one of our most-booked services — it's fast, it's done right, and you don't waste your first range trip dialing in.
For receivers that aren't drilled and tapped, we drill and tap for scope mounts at $15 per hole. Pistol slide optic cuts via CNC start at $150 — we mill, install plates, and confirm fit on the customer's chosen optic footprint.
Test fire (customer-provided ammo) is $15 if you want a 3-round group on paper before you take it home.

Common Questions
Standard threading is typically 5-10 business days, depending on shop load. Walk-ins are welcome to drop off; we'll give you a turnaround estimate at intake. Rush service available on case-by-case basis — call ahead.
If you have it, sending the actual device lets us verify thread fit before you leave. If you don't have it yet, give us the exact pitch and class (e.g., 1/2x28 to SAAMI spec) and we'll cut to that.
Done correctly, threading is concentric to the bore and you'll see no accuracy degradation. We indicate to the bore on the lathe — not external surfaces — and crown after threading. POI shift between bare-muzzle and device-installed will exist (it always does), but it's predictable and consistent.
Recrown only ($80) refreshes a worn, dinged, or off-square crown without changing barrel length. Cut and crown ($125) shortens the barrel to a target length and applies a fresh crown. If you're chopping a barrel for a build, cut-and-crown is the package you want.
